PSYC 4850

Grading: S/U

The purpose of PSYC 4850 is to give the psychology major an opportunity to read comprehensively in a particular content area under the direction of a faculty member. In addition to the comprehensive review of the content area, you may be asked to write a paper. You are also required to complete an evaluation of the course at the end of the semester.

Prerequisites for PSYC4850 are PSYC 2980/3980, PSYC 2990/3990, and at least one other course at the 3000-level or higher. For each credit hour, the student is expected to devote 3 hours per week (i.e., approximately 9 hours for 3 credit hours). Students may register for only one PSYC4850 per semester, for a maximum of 3 credit hours. Students may apply a maximum of 3 credit hours of PSYC4800 toward psychology electives. Up to an additional 3 hours of PSYC 4850 may be applied as free electives. Students may not enroll in more than 6 hours total of PSYC 4850.
