Neuroscience Professor's Research Appears in Time Magazine Online

Research by Neuroscience & Behavior Program Professor Philip Holmes and his colleagues was recently discussed in an article in Time Magazine's Online Edition. Their work has shown that over the course of several weeks, exercise can switch on certain genes that increase the brain's level of key neurotransmitters that appear to tone down the body's stress response by regulating another brain chemical, norepinephrine.
