Brian Hoffman Featured as 2015 IPAC Keynote Speaker

The psychology department would like to congratulate Associate Professor Brian Hoffman for being chosen as a keynote speaker at the 2015 International Personnel Assessment Council annual conference in Atlanta.  Brian presented his research, Changes in Workers and Work: Implications for Staffing Modern Organizations, to a packed house on Monday, July 21. Great work, Dr. Hoffman!

Dr. Emily Mouilso completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Georgia. Her predoctoral internship was completed at the Charleston Consortium, including work at the Ralph H Johnson Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the National Crime Victims Research and Treatment Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Augusta, GA. 

Dr. Mouilso will not be recruiting graduate students.

Randall Howell Lucius

Part-time Clinical Assistant Professor, Industrial-Organizational Master's Program

Dr. Lucius (a.k.a. “Randy”) has been with Emory for over 11 years and works within the Learning and Organizational Development Department of Human Resources for Emory University as the Assistant Vice President of Learning and Organizational Development. Prior to joining Emory he worked as a consultant, with over 20 years of progressive consulting experience that spans such diverse areas as executive assessment and coaching, job analysis, competency modeling, employee selection, litigation support, performance management, 360 degree feedback, frame-of-reference training, organizational re-structuring, employee opinion surveys, personality assessment, and leadership development. He has worked for numerous organizations of all sizes and types from small to the Fortune 500, government agencies, and non-profit.

Dr. Lucius graduated from The University of Georgia with a doctorate degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Prior experiences include Research Director for Fitability, Project Manager for Applied Psychological Techniques, and Vice President of the Turknett Leadership Group.

Dr. Lucius is the co-author of the Fitability 5, a personality-based assessment administered to over a quarter-million individuals across the U.S. Dr. Lucius’ co-founded Organizational Diagnostics Online, a company acquired by Fitability in 2001.

Dr. Lucius has served as a part-time clinical assistant professor of the Industrial-Organizational Master’s degree program at the University of Georgia for the last 8 years. Dr. Lucius is also a licensed psychologist, has served as an adjunct faculty member at Oglethorpe University, and once served as the President for the Atlanta Society of Applied Psychology. Dr. Lucius is married and has two children, a son who graduated from Emory University and a daughter who is currently a student at the University of South Carolina. He is also a former 18U softball coach.

Amanda Rodrigue Awarded International Research Fellowship

The UGA Psychology Department would like to extend a big congratulations to graduate student Amanda Rodrigue, who was awarded the UGA Franklin College-University of Liverpool Doctoral Student Short-Term International Research Fellowship. Amanda traveled to the University of Liverpool earlier this month for a week give several talks about her research.  Way to go, Amanda!

Charter Lecture

We are delighted to host Professor Edward J. Larson as our 2015 Charter Lecturer. Dr. Larson will be speaking on “George Washington and America’s Second Revolution” on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.

Following Dr. Larson’s remarks, Dean Stefanie Lindquist will moderate a Q&A session between Dr. Larson and a panel of talented UGA Honors students that will probe the complexities of Washington’s life. We look forward to welcoming Ed Larson back to campus for the Charter Lecture, and I ask that you mark your calendars for this important University event.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Larson, University Professor and Hugh & Hazel Darling Chair in Law at Pepperdine University, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and a former UGA faculty member. His most recent book, The Return of George Washington, 1783-1789, reached The New York Times best sellers list this spring.
