Is the GRE required for the application?
Yes. Scores for Verbal, Quant, and Analytical are required. The Psychology Subject test is NOT required. If you have more than 5 consecutive years of full-time, professional work experience AND either a previously earned graduate degree from an accredited university or a cumulative undergraduate GPA above a 'B' average, you may request a waiver of the GRE requirement. To request this waiver, email firstname.lastname@example.org with your resume, unofficial transcript(s), and a brief explanation for your request.
Will you accept GRE scores received after the application deadline?
Yes, we will accept GRE scores received after the application deadline. The latest that UGA will accept them is July 1st. However, for full consideration of your application for the upcoming Fall cohort, we must receive your scores no later than May 15th. If received after May 15th but by July 1st, you may be placed on a wait list for the upcoming Fall cohort. We typically have a few wait-listed students who are ultimately accepted into the program each year.
The online application asks for three contacts for my letters of recommendation, but the IOMP website says I am only required to submit one letter of recommendation. How do I handle this?
You are only required to provide one letter of recommendation as part of your application to the I-O Professional Master’s Program, but you are welcome to provide additional names for up to three letters of recommendation. For the online application, just enter a non-active email address such as “NA@na.org” or "XX@xx.com” into the fields that ask for additional names.
Do I need to request official transcripts as part of my application?
Applicants should submit unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended as part of the online application. Unofficial transcripts not submitted as part of the online application can be emailed to email@example.com. Official transcripts are not required during the review process and will only be required for applicants who are offered admission. Do not mail official transcripts until offered admission. More details can be found here: http://grad.uga.edu/index.php/
Do early applications receive priority?
No. All applications received before the deadline each spring are given full consideration. Please note that we will make some early acceptances of highly qualified applicants prior to the application deadline. However, we will leave plenty of spots available in the cohort to ensure all applications submitted by the deadline are given full consideration.
