Researchers in the Primate Cognition and Behavior Laboratory, directed by Dr. Dorothy Fragaszy of the Behavioral and Brain Sciences Program, study a wide spectrum of behavioral phenomena, principally in nonhuman primates, but occasionally in other taxa as well.  We have an ethological orientation, asking questions about development, function, mechanism, and evolutionary origins of behaviors of interest to us. The lab has focused recently on problem-solving behaviors, manual skills, and social learning of technical skills in tufted capuchin monkeys.
