I study brain structure and connectivity in various clinical populations using diffusion-weighted MRI. My current work assesses white matter structure in a group of people with a genetic, panocular disorder called aniridia, as well as in people with psychosis - namely schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and psychotic versus non-psychotic bipolar disorder. Structural distinctions between these groups should inform future studies of the neural mechanisms of psychosis, which will ultimately improve classification and treatment.
