The psychology department would like to congratulate Brett Clementz and Josh Miller for recently winning awards for their research. Dr. Miller was honored with the William A. Owens Creative Research Award for his continued work in Personality disorders, and DR. Clementz was honored as our newest Distinguished Research Professor for his groundbreaking work in the mechanisms of psychosis.

Congratulations to Brandon Weiss, who has been selected as one of the winners of the Graduate School Dean's award program. Brandon's nomination was chosen from a very competitive pool of highly qualified applicants.

The Psychology Clinic has been awarded a grant from the UGA Parents Leadership Council to off-set the cost of providing psychotherapy to low income UGA undergraduate students. The grant will also fund an assistantship for a graduate student therapist who will specialize in providing therapy to UGA undergraduate students. The funds will allow the Psychology Clinic to better serve students, especially low-income students, and reduce wait-times for all individuals seeking therapy services.

Congratulations to Violeta Rodriguez, a first-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program and FRESH lab, who has been selected as a fellow of the Yale Ciencia Academy for Career Development.

The UGA Psychology Deparment would like to recognize and congratulate Dr. Ronald Blount, who was recently awarded the Michael C. Roberts Award for Outstanding Mentoring in Pediatric Psychology by the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP). This award honors faculty in pediatric psychology who mentor students in an exemplary way, providing professional advice and guidance through various training phases. In 2017 the award was renamed the Michael C.

Congratulations to UGA faculty member Dr. Justin Lavner and UGA alumnus Dr. Jessica Maples-Keller, who have been selected as Rising Stars in the Association for Psychological Science. APS Rising Stars reflect the best and brightest of psychological science.
