Dr. Ronald Blount Awarded Michael C. Roberts Award for Outstanding Mentoring in Pediatric Psychology The UGA Psychology Deparment would like to recognize and congratulate Dr. Ronald Blount, who was recently awarded the Michael C. Roberts Award for Outstanding Mentoring in Pediatric Psychology by the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP). This award honors faculty in pediatric psychology who mentor students in an exemplary way, providing professional advice and guidance through various training phases. NY Times Best Seller Luke Dittrich Gives Well-Attended Talk The psychology department was fortunate to have New York Times best-selling author Luke Dittrich visit our department on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 to present his talk: Patient H.M.: A Story of Memory, Madness, and Family Secrets. Dr. Anne Shaffer Awarded $2,500 Innovation in the Franklin Multicultural Curriculum Grant Congratulations to Dr. Anne Shaffer, who was awarded a $2,500 Innovation in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Multicultural Curriculum Grant, one of two awards given for the 2017-2018 academic year. The goal of the award is to support and encourage faculty to develop new courses that would be appropriate for the college’s multicultural curriculum or to significantly revise existing courses in order to be included in the multicultural curriculum. This award can also be used to engage in diversity innovation in the graduate curriculum as well. Great work, Dr. Shaffer! BBS Program Hosts Annual First Year Project Presentations The BBS Program gathered for its annual First Year Project Talks on Wednesday, October 4th. Brooke Jackson gave her talk on "Cognitive Control in Psychosis," and Elizabeth Edge spoke on "Cognitive Control in Schizophrenia: an MEG study". Both are members of the Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience Lab and they were both outstanding. Great work Brook and Elizabeth! Professors Adam Goodie and Prashant Doshi Receive $107,717 NSF Grant Psychology professor Adam Goodie and Computer Science Professor Prashant Doshi have been awarded a $107,717 one-year grant by the National Science Foundation under its Rapid Response Research (RAPID) program for their research titled "Evacuate or not?
